The Ankaran Intergenerational Centre will host an exhibition of sculptures by Igor Knap, a self-taught artist who discovers hidden figures in wood and stone and brings them to life through his creativity.

His creative journey began when he saw his first figure hidden in a piece of firewood. Since then, he has drawn inspiration primarily from wood, especially walnut, as well as various types of stone, including Brač stone, Tuscan alabaster and Slovenian stone.

He has presented his works in several solo exhibitions and has also taken part in a sculpture workshop on the island of Brač, where he gained new skills and inspiration for his future work.

Today, he creates in Ankaran and Račice near Ilirska Bistrica, continuing to discover new forms and creative ideas in nature.

The exhibition will be on view until 30 September 2026.
